THE GHAJI ATTACK - MVOIE REVIEW

The Ghazi Attack is a compelling account of an undersea war, the telling of which stays dormant. It is about the series of events that occurred before the 1971 Indo-Pak war, a head-on confrontation between PNS Ghazi and India's S-21 submarine.

It covers mostly every element of underwater action, right from survival issues, technical explanations of their strategies, pipe leakages, cryptic messages, emotional conflicts and so on. The first half throws more spotlight on Kay Kay and why not? He totally steals the show with his exemplary performance and his role as an oddball aggressive officer, who believes in knocking out the enemy without waiting for orders. On the other hand, Lt. Commander Arjun (Rana) is a "classroom theory", law-abiding officer and the first half revolves around their dispute. Executive Officer Devraj (Atul Kulkarni) comes off as a sensible officer who knows whose orders to follow when.
The film beautifully shows the sensitive side of these men in sea. The scene where Kay Kay playfully returns a toy to a civilian child on board is indeed touching.Second half is all about well-thought firing of torpedoes from both sides. This part is extremely nail biting (literally), gripping and will take you to the edge of your seats till the end.As you know the secreat of sinking of PNS Ghaji is a mystery . It is unsolved but a double voiced story.
A commendable story, commendable performances, Kay Kay Menon is the one who stands out. His Fabulous acting skills just blend in the character of a hot headed Sikh Captain. His character draws out the theme of “ war is not about becoming a martyr but making enemy the martyr” . His character shines the most in the first half. Second half focuses more on Rana Daggubati who plays the role of “classroom theory” soldier that contrasts well to Kay Kay Menon’s character. And Atul Kulkarni’s supporting role adds a really solid base to both of their character’s polar personalities.commendable cinematography and a commendable depiction of this issue. You will not regret this one. The Ghazi Attack thus stands out in Bollywood’s history of war films. But is is must see film.
